So, the day of our monthly credit file update is here. Noddle & Equifax - clear as bells, top credit ratings. Experian? For some unexplained reason, a default has decided to re-appear on my file!! With a default date 1 month & 10 days over what it should be. How on earth can this happen?? This has been removed once as I queried the default date a couple of months ago. Is this a ploy of the credit ref agencies to have us keep our subscriptions so we have to keep checking 'just in case'??? Confused & angry instead of elation is how I'm feeling right now. Oh well, yet another query winging it's way to Experian as we speak [:(]

I would think it is more a case of them being slow to update your file more than anything more sinister, but you are correct to query why these entries are still showing Tinks81.

Melanie - it isn't simply a case of it still showing - it's the fact that it reappeared after having been removed a couple of months ago after I queried the default date then! How can it be put back on??? Is that even legal????

I don't think that there is any legality with how the credit files are updated, however this does seem to be a case of incompetance. Ensure that your complaint is marked urgent, and do let us know how this is ultimately resolved.

Hi

Go back to them, you should find it will be removed straight away if you complain. I find email the best way to communicate with them
