Well - I received a cheque yesterday from CPP relating to this Card protection thing. I've been completing the forms for months but never expected to receive anything.
Anyway it's for £179 and will be paid into the bank next week after Easter.

Already been in contact with Cleardebt today letting them know I've received it.
So once cleared, I'll pay over to them for my IVA.

Every little bit helps as they say even though I would love to keep it! But honestly is the best policy!

Have a great Easter everyone
Susie

honesty is the best policy I agree. It does seem a shame you can't keep a percentage but I guess that's the rule of the game.

Well will up the dividend to your creditors at least
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Thanks Melanie, I just don't want to do anything wrong during my IVA, hence being honest. It was the life saver at the time and has taught me such a great lesson.
ClearDebt have been fantasic over the last 3 years and I just want the next 2 to go as smoothly.
I just cannot wait to be debt free and look forward to saving the money I have left over each month once the IVA is finished.

Why do you have to pay the £179 into your IVA??? Do you not have the £500 windfall clause saying you can keep anything £500 or under? I distinctly remember experts posting on here when CPP first came to light saying that as the amounts would be minimal, IPs wouldn't bother asking clients for it!

Not all ivas have the windfall clause in it .... ppi refunds are different to other windfalls like a lottery win.
Sharing from experiences of dealing with debt

There is a solution for everyone .... Just need to stay positive !

As far as I know it's classed the same as the PPI money so hence it needs to be paid over.
I do have the £500 clause as once all my PPI claims have been finished, I will receive £500 but need to wait until they are all completed.
It's not a windfall as such.

It is not a windfall it is an asset - hence there is no £500 benchmark.
