An inheritance has recently been paid to my IVA. I've been assured that the amount from the inheritance plus the IVA monthly payments I've been making for over 5 years will more than cover what's owed including all fees. In your experience, how long will it take before I get the money that's left over, and how long will it take to close my IVA and get a certificate?

Best regards,

Steve

Who are you with? Completion times seem to vary from company to company.

Steve - it must feel great to know you have been able to repay all your original debts!

I suppose your closure could be quite quick as there will be no PPI enquiries outstanding.

I think if it were me I would give the company a month from when the monies were paid into the account and ask for a status update.

As Kazza suggests give it a month and then drop them an email along the lines of, " I hope all is going well and that completion is progressing. Please do not hesitate to contact me if there are any problems I can assist with to aid a speedy conclusion to my case. In the meantime I would appreciate an update."
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

From what I have read on here, DFD are not the fastest. Keep in regular contact, as someone said, the squeaky wheel gets the oil!
