My husband and i started at iva in sept 2007 we ended in in 2011 with a lump sum. We are looking at the option of purchasing a house in approx 12-18 month, our experian scores are in the "good" section I think approx 900 each we have recently got credit cards accepted and intend to use 10% of available credit each month and have a direct debit set up for full payment every month to increase score. What I want to know is the chance of getting the governments help to buy equity loan accepted. Approx house price £195000 and we will have approx £15000 cash deposit. Also any tips to get our scores even higher would be appreciated. Thanks I don't want to spend the next year saving like mad to find at the end of it we are fighting a losing battle!
You should be able to get a mortgage in this timescale as your credit files will have cleared up. I would advise you use a specialist broker at the time as they will know which lenders to avoid and the bigger the deposit the better.
