Yet another rant! Also unrelated to an IVA!

I was due to get paid today, surprise surprise, it didn't turn up. Not a problem, as my car payment doesn't go out until tomorrow.

Unfortunately, it looks like my employer has put my wages into my old account that is included in part of my IVA. I was told by the admin girl that this was the case, and they would put my wages in the correct account and then recall the BACS payment from the old one.

I called Lloyds (IVA account) and they said they have not received a payment. Can they lie? Is it possible the money has gone into the account and they don't want me to withdraw it?

I hope this made sense, im having a panic attack at the moment!

Cheers,

Cam

Unlikely that Lloyds would lie.
IVA started March 2011, Completed March 2016 and certificate issued 11 days after final payment. It was not always easy but then some of the best decisions aren't.

Lloyds would not lie - it would not be ethical for them to do so. It could be 'recall' of payment has kicked in and money directed back to employer for payment to correct account.

Unlikely that they would lie, could be that an overnight batch update is needed before it shows up.

Hi,

The VERY same thing happened to me, with the very same bank, Lloyds.

My company changed systems and accidentally brought in my old account details instead of the new.

In my case the HR staff weren't sure if they could do anything about it.

However, Lloyds rejected the payment and the money went back into the company bank account. Then HR sent it to my new account.

So get your people to check the company bank account as Lloyds may well have rejected it.

They rejected mine very quickly I think, like within 24 hours but I can't be 100% sure. I know it wasn't very long though.

Hi

Very likely that it will be returned by bank next day as the account is probably now flagged as closed for any transactions.
Let's hope your company pay you into the correct account today

Regards

It's a total pain. My situation is different as I freelance and it is amazing how often people "forget" to pay me. It throws my whole budget into a huge mess, means I cannot pay bills and is generally frightening. ALthough different, I think there should be a rule that you HAVE to pay on time if you employ a freelancer.

Well good news, I got paid today. Not a wink of sleep last night.

However I don't think my work have been able to recall the payment yet. I'll leave it with them. It's their fault!
