Hi
I am looking for some advice with regards to a mortgage, and wonder if you may be able to help?
My husband and I completed an IVA in March 2012, for which I have a completion certificate.
We have been advised that we are not likely to find a lender until at least 6 years from end, even with a large deposit, is this correct?

See Ryan or Shaun in Ask the Experts (bottom right of your screen)
IVA started March 2011, Completed March 2016 and certificate issued 11 days after final payment. It was not always easy but then some of the best decisions aren't.
No this is wrong. Some lenders do wait 6 years, some will never lend to you.
Have a word with the two brokers who regularly post on here, Ryan and / or Shaun, who have helped many of us get mortgages. You can find their details under the "Ask a Question" tab ( top left) and scrolling down to the Experts Details section.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014
It is usually six years from the start of the IVA so it depends how long your IVA was in place as to how easy it would be to get a mortgage. Did you have a standard five year arrangement or was it shorter?
