I completed my IVA in March 2014 - I've checked my credit file and all is good and green - what are my chances of getting a mortgage with my bank - the Nat West who were not part of my IVA? Or do all banks check records further than 6 years although on the surface my credit rating is good? I've no credit since the IVA but I do have a joint mortgage, which I want to dissolve and get one by myself!
Different lenders have different criteria. I would suggest a chat with a whole of market broker with experience in adverse credit.
We have Ryan and Shaun on forum, whose details can be found under the "Ask a Question" tab ( top left) and scrolling down to the Experts details section.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014
NatWest will know about the IVA so they may be difficult but certainly worth asking the question. It probably would be better though to speak to a specialist broker as they know the criteria across the board.
Hi,
I am sorry to say but Natwest policy is never to lend to someone who has ever been in an IVA.
If your credit files are all clean and the IVA is no longer showing I am sure I could find a lender who would consider lending, but I would need to know more details.
