Hi everyone. Just a quickie for you as I still monitor this fantastic forum. I received my completion Cert over a year ago, April 2014. A couple of days ago I received a statement from Santander which is still adding interest onto a loan that has obviously been settled. The telephone number given is just an automated message telling me that arrangements are in place and that the statement is sent out for legal reasons. Surely this shouldn't be happening now? Any advice accepted.

It shouldnt be happening now no. Have a look for a customer services email address or number and try to speak to them. If you like you could pass it back to your old iva firm to deal with. Seems silly that they are adding interest to a loan which has a zero balance!!

Discharged today the 8th feb 2012. View is much brighter now.
Continuing to rebuild our credit worthiness.

Thanks Plasticdaft. I just had a look at my previous posts and apparently this happened last year at about the same time. Andy Davie then said I should stop receiving them and that last years should have been the end of. Apparently not!

Hi Stirling this is a common issue where creditors don't update their records when they receive the final report from the IP. You will probably find that you need to send them a copy of your CC and get them to update their records. You may need to get your IP to liaise with them but should hopefully be able to sort out direct.

Many Thanks.

To all those of you reading this looking for light at the end of the tunnel I can assure you it does get better.
Since I received my completion Cert I have used the additional income which now comes to me not the IVA, to reduce my Interest only Mortgage. I have had Two Holidays abroad with the wife and things are looking good. I will freely admit that being in the IVA for five years gave me the kick up the backside I seriously needed. I am pleased to say that I have not lapsed into my old ways of spending and do not intend to. It was not an easy learning curve and those five years were truly difficult but manageable.
I wish all of you health wealth and happiness. I think I have eventually found mine. Best wishes to you all.
