Hope to use 0% credit deal. What would be the likely outcome if I have to declare previous IVA ?

Hi everyone
I'm hoping to buy a bed from next using the 0% finance deal. My iva is no longer on my credit file (came off June 15). Does anyone know if they ask the question- have you ever had an iva and if I declare it, what the outcome is likely to be?

Hi,

Glad you are all sorted but - if you are asked the question you should answer honestly. What the outcome will be I don't know. Hopefully you will be ok.

Have you checked your credit record to make sure there are no defaults still registered?

I don't think the "catalogue" credit questions are too onerous, but, before applying, check all three credit files and look out for any Notices of Correction mentioning the IVA as, if these have been added, they do not fall off automatically and you have to request their removal.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

Thank you for the replies. I don't have anything at all on my records. Could they decline me based on my past iva even though it's not on my file anymore

Its pot luck - at the end of the day no-one is obligated to provide credit.
IVA started March 2011, Completed March 2016 and certificate issued 11 days after final payment. It was not always easy but then some of the best decisions aren't.

Sometimes it is down to the individual lender - some of them keep records after the six years. You'll have to take your chances.

Hi

You should not be asked about previous IVA, they will rely on the various credit record checks that they will make

Go ahead with your application and good luck
