Hi,my husband and I are in a iva,my husband had to buy a cheap run around car as his had broken down and needs a car to get to work basically my question is he never communicated with them and now we have a letter about our review saying we owe £467.23 as we won't over the threshold, should we explain to them that that money was used for this ??
Let the IP know as this will at least explain what happened. The IP can then ask creditors to forgive this or extend the IVA for the money to be introduced.
Just explain the circumstances --- and no car = no job = no payments.
Chances are ( depending on who you are with) they would have allowed the purchase, or agreed a break in payments to fund it. They might be a bit miffed at not being asked, but, hopefully, all will be forgiven.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
