IVA started March 2011, Completed March 2016 and certificate issued 11 days after final payment. It was not always easy but then some of the best decisions aren't.
An IVA, as described in the link given above, is an excellent solution to debt problems, but should be viewed as a method to pay back as much as you can reasonably afford --- NOT, as some firms try to portray it, as a way to pay back as little as possible. Approaching it from the latter viewpoint sets you up for 5 or 6 years of misery, trying to "beat the system (IP) " and, often failing.
I might also add that it is not the onlt solution, and all of your circumstances need to be taken into account to choose the correct path.

To me an iva was a second chance in life ... an opportunity to live again having paid our debts in a formal way and learnt new budgeting skills along the way.
