Hi, I started my IVA 10/02/2010 and finished in 2013 via a full and final settlement. I am trying to clear my credit files as all defaults should drop off within 28 days of 10/02/2016. I checked my credit files and I have a Santander loan that was included in my IVA that has been marked as delinquent but showing up that I made late payments. On speaking to Experian they have told me this will stay on my account as it does not and cannot have a default date as it is marked as delinquent. Can anyone help with this as this means this will stay on my file. Many Thanks

Hi Sarah

I've not heard of delinquent status before so am bumping this up for you and hope someone else can help.

All I know is that all defaults should not post date your IVA, especially once you've come off the register post closure.

Thanks, I have sent the standard letter to Santander and awaiting response but Experian have worried me saying they will not action anything as there is no default to amend and this will stay on my file. Anyone else had experience with this?

Santander should be able to sort this for you as they can tell Experian to remove it as far as I am aware.

I had to write to Santander, as the date they had was after my iva started. There put this right away and will now drop of in December this year.
IVA now over with and it was worth it.
now starting my life again,

I'm fast approaching my credit clean-up period. Is there a sticky or something similar with the various stages?

Edit: Wow! I'm showing as completed. But I went into extra time. That looked nice for a minute :)

I basically got credit report from each of the three credit ref agencies and checked all the default dates should be the start date of your IVA so they drop off at the same time. Any discrepancies then need to send a letter to the credit company concerned asking them to amend it with a copy of your completion certificate. there is a post iva clear up letter template if you google it. They should then amend within 28 days so everything drops off file 6 years from IVA start date.

Letters need to go to the data controllers of any creditors still defaulting you.

Clearscore and Noddle are free.
