We have 3.5 years to go on our IVA and my husband has realised he can access his private pension this year, our iva provider has said that as a pension is not an asset all we would have to pay off is the remainder of our IVA committment, is this correct and would our remaining debt then be written off.

We did this and it was the best thing we did. Finished our iva 3 years early but to be honest it still raised issues for us now!

Make sure the wording is done correctly and that 1) they cannot take the whole amount and 2) it will only be released subject to formal agreement from creditors.
IVA started March 2011, Completed March 2016 and certificate issued 11 days after final payment. It was not always easy but then some of the best decisions aren't.
