I have cleared my IVA early but think that there is 4 years left on my record. I need to re-mortgage my property and was advised to check with 3 agencies that IVA is showing as cleared. I would like to check that by calling the agencies, does this leave a footprint which could cause me a problem applying for the re-mortgage.
Checking the information held about you by a credit reference agency is your legal right and will not leave a footprint.
However you will find that they expect you to apply for a copy in writing or on line.
IVA started March 2011, Completed March 2016 and certificate issued 11 days after final payment. It was not always easy but then some of the best decisions aren't.
The IVA will remain there for the full six years regardless of the fact that you finished early.
You can check for free with Noddle and Clearscore.
As regards a mortgage you can speak to our resident experts Ryan or Shaun (details under the left hand side of the page under the expert details) for some advice.
