I have been informed today by a solicitor I can legally sue my ex-employer for around £17.500 minimum, my actual debt with iva is £22.304 exactly. would iva simply reduce my bill or can I keep the money, id only use it for work purposes as I'm a taxi driver and need a new vehicle.

Hi and welcome, do discuss this with your IP as s/he would be the one with definitive answer.

All the best.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

I suspect the answer will hinge on what the terms of any award are classed as.

That will then determine whether it is compensation you can keep (pain and suffering) or whether it needs to be paid into the IVA as a windfall.
