Is this for you 1st months iva payment,?
or a up front fee?
if its a upfront fee, look for a company that dones not ask for any upfront fee.
IVA now over with and it was worth it.
now starting my life again,

There are no solicitors fees in an IVA.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

What is the money supposed to be for? A Bank transfer is just as good, perhaps even safer, than a payment over the telephone so as long as you are happy to pay whatever this is for I see no problem with that, just get the request in writing.

I hear this a lot. Do not deal with any company that asks for payments until your meeting of creditors has taken place and your IVA accepted. That would be my advice anyway, and I suspect you are miles away from that point so shop around.

I paid one payment up front but it was in writing that in the unlikely event my IVA proposal was not accepted, the payment would be returned to me.

My IVA proposal was accepted and I went in my IVA with 59 payments remaining as that payment was my first.

Do make sure this is the case with you and the payment will be returned or if it is an upfront payment, do shop around for another company as there is no need to make upfront payments.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.
