I have an IVA and it's been 5 years . There is a review going on at the moment regarding me remortgaging my house . I'd rather just continue paying for another 12 months . How can I accomplish this ?

If you have equity in your property you will almost certainly will NOT be able to remortgage,so a 12 month extention will apply.
Today 1st of December 2016 the vultures finally flew away

Some IP firms will ask you to prove you cannot remortgage. Once this position has been clarified they should write to you and confirm that the extension will apply instead.

Ultimately the choice is not yours to make, however, at the moment, you will not be able to get a remortgage as the market currently stands. A 12 month extension is the likely outcome in any event.

You still need to jump through the hoops, firstly, to make sure that there is actually equity there to be had. If not, no extension anyway. And, secondly, you need to prove you cannot remortgage, as this is what you agreed to do in your arrangement. However, there are a few, worldy-wise, IP's who realise that this is a futile exercise these days and don't press too hard for evidence.
