I'm currently in a IVA at the moment. At the time of taking the IVA I wasn't reviewing CSA payments. When I did eventually start to revive them my IVA people were in informed and my payments doubled taking the CSA payments. Now I've started a part time university course plus I work part time too. I'm also having to a teacher placement extra to go with my uni course. As im not working any extra hours to account for materials for uni, travel and IT equipment I'm finding it difficult. If I explained the situation to my IVA people could they lower the payments? I have no extra cash what so ever I have a baby and I'm left with £50 a week for both of us to live it's killing me. I don't want to have to drop out of uni when I have come so far... Please help.

Hi and welcome,

You need to speak to your company and explain the change in circumstances to them, I am sure they will be sympathetic.

How long have you been in the IVA?

Your IP should be able to reduce the payments so speak with them directly and not someone in a call centre. It is unusual that all the CSA money was grabbed as creditors only normally look for a percentage so ask for a complete review. If you cannot get speaking with your IP make a formal complaint.
