I used them and they were fine but they do tend to get mixed reviews on here.

They also appear to take all of household income into account which means that partners etc. could end up contributing to your IVA.
Shop around -5/6 years is a long time and you need to be comfortable with what happens.
IVA started March 2011, Completed March 2016 and certificate issued 11 days after final payment. It was not always easy but then some of the best decisions aren't.
As LNE says they tend to grab all of the household income, which effectively means your spouse would be paying your debts. But my biggest problem is that they have very few IP's compared to the number of clients they get fed by the creditors and you will NEVER get to speak to an IP if things go wrong!

IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014
I am with payplan and have been since 2011. Personally if I could turn back the clock and avoid them I would. I am on about my 10th case officer, and everytime they email me it is from a different person. You CANNOT speak to or get a response from an IP and they change the rules for me willy nilly 3 times over bonus payment, salary increases and now my equity release
Stay well clear and avoid at all costs my case officer has changed numerous times and never spoken to my IP in 5 years. They also ring out of the blue especially when I'm at work. No compassion or sympathy shown either
Lisa -- it is policy in the factories that the IP can never be contacted directly. We have seen this time and time again on the forum, even in the direst of emergencies !

Unless the IP is a direct employee that is going to be interesting under the new IR35 regime in place from today.

Hi Lisa it's true in the 5 years I have been with payplan I have never spoken to my IP! It really is immaterial now as I only have April payment to make then I'm complete but if only out of courtesy it would of been nice to of spoken at least once to my IP. I feel sorry for many people who have no relationship with their IVA company but I suppose they feel in some way they are not obliged to as it's they who are providing a service. Payplan in my opinion have been poor in the fact I have had numerous case officers so that's where the initial breakdown of client relations starts and ends.
I'm with freeman jones and I have never spoke to my IP I've had about 10 "relationship managers"and they ring anytime but they do ask if it's ok for me to talk and they are very sympathetic when you have a problem. All in all they seem ok
Today 1st of December 2016 the vultures finally flew away
consistency is the key. you don't want to have to keep explaining the background of your case/query over and over every time a new manager takes over, although I appreciate sometimes that's inevitable in a firm.
I never spoke to my IP (Payplan)but I had several case officers, some of whom were superb.

I was with Payplan and would agree with what has been said on here. I had numerous case officers some good some bad, never spoke to my IP. I found that post often got lost and they took ages to sort out my equity release clause and it was very stressful at the time. It is also the case about household income I thought that this was the norm but have realised since that is was not.
On the plus side they did get me through my IVA, they did not mention a secured loan like some companies seem to and my completion certificate was issued after about 3 months which is not bad.
However if I was starting again I would shop around as Kallis suggested.
