Just thought i would pop a post on here to say we have returned from our face to face meeting. We found the meeting to be really helpful and it was lovely meeting Mel (who, as everyone said was lovely). We went armed with a list of questions, all of which were answered by the time we left. I think one of the good things about this meeting is that it has helped Mel understand who we are and makes the whole experience more personal, also it helped us make sure that the step we are taking is definately the right one for us. There was no pressure or feeling rushed (in fact we ended up staying for about 3 hours!!) I found myself in a slightly emotional state at one stage (my poor husband - i am a soppy cow), but Mel acted with kindness and helped me through it.
All in all a pleasant experience during a not so pleasant time.
Oh and if you ever need directions in Cardiff, Mel's staff are very good :-)

Great post and a real settler for people wanting a personal service from a fantastic lady. Why deal with big firms and call centres when you can have Mels team sorting you out?

Thanks DebtFree - it was one of those times when you don't know how you are feeling and thanks to Mel and her team we were put right at ease - you really felt like a person rather than a number (i expect you would feel like that with a bigger company!)
Well done to you for sending off all your paperwork too - hopefully you will get your proposal soon - i cant remember - do you need a face to face too??

Yes Clairebare - we will need a face to face meeting too as we are self employed.

So it is definitely good to hear of others going before us and how the different stages have gone for them. So thank you for sharing your experiences.

Thank you ladies for all of those very kind comments. I always advocate face to face meetings, whether you are self-employed or not, and whilst a lot of my clients prefer to deal with us over the telephone - which is fine with us - those who do make the trip always tell me it has been very beneficial.
