The card will be able to be used at atms restaurants, online anywhere you see a maestro sign. All transactions will be authorised at the time and will be declined if no funds are avaliable. You can also have additional cards if required. The card is becoming avaliable in March. Hope that helps.

Hi
just to add to AGguies comments in that a Maestro card is better than an electron card as I have both,on different bank accounts, and have found that some retailers do not accept electron over the phone or online.

Neverending so maestro is more accepted than electron, that was the only bit that I was wondering as I had electron some years ago and found quite a few places didnt accept it,was a bit worried maestro was the same, will be happy if sains etc will accept just easier than cash all the time or having to get postal orders which cost more.

Hi Neverending

I know you are pretty happy with your basic bank account through Gregory Pennington (I believe this is Royal bank of Scotland).

Am I correct in understanding that the Gregory Pennington account also gives a Debit Card? If so then £12.50 seems like a reasonable deal as other Card Cash accounts do not offer this and if you get a Pre Paid Card, the over all annual charges may work out to be more.

James
As Aguise correctly states it does provide a Maestro card and will be providing an internet service later in the year. The main advantage to this account is that you cannot go overdrawn[like most basic accounts]but you also cannot access money set aside for your bills[unless you actually cancel the direct debit or standing orders].
They have re named themselves think banking tel 08456343499

Thank you all. I will be banking with Gregory Pennington.Maestro is accepted at more places and the managed account is a plus.
