I always ask for the first payment to be made when clients are signing their proposals. It might make no difference to creditors, but it certainly shows me commitment and affordability which is and important part of the process. In the unlikely event that the IVA is rejected, all monies are returned to the client.

As i have said in my previous post i went to thomas charles first but decided against it they were going to charge me 3 months and the total was £1200.I then went to another ip with no upfront fees and i told thomas charles this he then offered to lower the fee to £1100 then £1000 I DECLINED THANK GOD[8D]and even after 3 weeks i was still getting phone calls and emails trying to talk me into going with them in the end up i told them to remove my details and not get in touch again.

Yep, I would have had no problem making the payment at the start of the proposal stage, so long as it counted towards the 60 I was making. Except the first month all my money went to pay creditors, and thats why TC only got 2 payments instead of the 3 I think they really wanted!

hi i would be dubious about having to pay 2 months installment upfront, especially when you are told that if your iva is not set up the payments would not be returned to you.

our ip is melanie giles and we sent our 1st payment off with our signed proposals but we were told that should our iva not get approved our payment would be returned!
