They have been told by you and I that you are in the process of proposing an IVA. You do not need to put up with this constant pressure, and I suggest that you stop answering the phone when you know it is them phoning.

Quite right Melanie, and there you go Kazzy, Captain Melanie is on the case, now try and relax, it's the end of the day and time to chill out, run a bath and wallow for as long as you like, or whatever. Tomorrow you'll know how to deal with calls more assertively.

Hi Melanie, yes I need to start ignoring the phone, I just thought it was better to speak to them to let them know the situation. A week or so ago, when Egg phoned, I told them that they had received a letter from your office and they denied ever seeing one, but I know they were all sent (just lies). MBNA called last Friday and asked me for a reference number and I don't know what it is, so I will email Angela for it tomorrow.

Hiya Barb, hope you're ok. I know it's just a matter of time before these calls stop, but this was the worst one I have had and it really upset me. I will ignore the phone from now on, just thought I was 'doing the right thing' but obviously not. Next time they ring they will get a mouth full. Take Care Kazzy x

hi
i had the same problem with egg. they kept saying i hadn't contacted them and they'd received no information with regards to the iva. i think they just act dumb so you panic and make a token payment.
i had to laugh tonight though. my hubby got a call from one of his creditors to tell us they won't be calling anymore as were now in an iva.
i've never heard of a phone call to say theres gonna be no more phone calls. lol. i reckon they didn't read the notes before they rang then felt stupid and came up with a reason for phoning.

i have caller display so i started ignoring calls when i didn't know whos number it was.

HI HUN

I KNOW ITS NOT NICE AND SOME DAYS IT CAN REALLY GET TO YOU! MERCERS WERE A PAIN FOR US BUT THE WORST ONE WAS ON ONE OCCASION THE HALIFAX, THE BLOKE WAS SO CONFRONTATIONAL AND I CAME OFF THE PHONE AND BROKE MY HEART! THE NEXT TIME THE HALIFAX RANG MY HUBBY TOOK THE CALL AND TOLD THEM NEVER TO PHONE OUR HOUSE AND SPEAK TO ME LIKE THAT!

OUR IVA WAS ACCEPTED SO I DONT THINK WHETHER YOU TAKE THE CALLS OR NOT IT WILL HAVE A IMPACT ON THE OUT COME OF YOUR IVA!

YOUR IVA WILL BE ACCEPTED HUN, YOU ARE NEARLY THERE!

KEEP YER CHIN UP, YOU ARE DOING BRILL!

LOVE BARB X

It makes no difference at all whether or not you contact them. I only ever spoke to any of mine once, which would be the first time they contacted me. Always ignored the phone after that.

Got my IVA accepted no problem at all.

Trouble is, with the way things are going, these bullies are never going to be out of a job - too many people will be having problems!

Hi Everyone,

Just posted our letters to the creditors advising that we are entering an IVA with Melanie, Buy the way I have never met a firm as on the ball as Melanies team they are so effecient at getting the ball rolling its great to know we are in good hands....

Just waiting for the phone calls now, just wondered if when they ring are they allowed to discuss anything with other members of the house hold? the reason for this is we have a son living at home with us and he knows nothing about it! will they just ask to speak to me or hubby, or when they leave a message on the answer machine will they leave any details.

Thanks for any advice
Maxie x
