I am so scared been in Iva for 3 years I applied for a credit card in nov was not aware I couldn’t av one as limit was 500 and I am in Iva so I just threw it on wardrobe thought nothing of it never activated it however years ago I had a gambling problem which was coz of a horrid domestic violence I was suffering but I had put all that to bed. Anyhow just recently had a baby 5th had no idea I was pregnant I then had to work in Covid and I do nursing all my patents was passing away it was so sad whilst being in may leave and being stuck in with all the kids in lockdown I felt so so down just didn’t want wake up I av bin literally staying in my pjs all day sat staring in to space a soul rut skint mat pay only giving me 700 a month I av pay full rent to a d c/tax Iva av gi m a few months break but last week I received a letter saying an ex partner who served 8 yrs sentence for beating me to death almost is being released that ain’t what I’m shifting the excuse to but just another worry I’m crying all time don’t want be ere don’t want wake up I didn’t a. Enuff for my car insurance so I used 48 quid on the card I then got real bad anxiety and even more depressed and panic as I needed to put the 48 bk fast and close account so I did the most foolish thing and thought I would put 20 on casino site to win bk the card funds to put it back and I av really changed my ways in that respect I like to be sensible with my money now well I found it so rewarding playing taking my mind off my horrid thought well b4 I knew I had done 507 gone 7 over now I don’t no what to do I am panicking I can’t sleep I can’t stop thinking an wording it was a silly silly mistake I just dnt no what is Gina happen really don’t want be failed on Iva It will write me off mentally to av to deal with all the debt now I hatemyself for what I av done foolish and wrong just any advice from anyone I don’t av family tht can help me pay either I was brought up in a foster home carried this demon now for 3 days

I think it may be best to come clean about the card and deal with it head on. Nobody benefits from your iva failing and you certainly are not the first person to use credit during an iva.

Hopefully your case manager will understand the choices you have made.

I'm sorry about your problems, I hope your ex won't be able to get to you at all? As regards the gambling, you do need to seek help again and you do need to cut up that card.

Speak to your IP company and explain all of this to them. I would also suggest that you possibly speak to a mental health charity and talk things over with them as you are obviously struggling (as are a lot of us at the moment). It may help.

I can only echo the advice given above. Maybe the IP will agree a payment break so you could use that money to repay the (cut up ) card ---- the missed payments will be added on at the end of the IVA.

I know that 'biting the bullet' is hard, but the worry is not doing you any good either !

Also look into getting yourself blocked from gambling sites ... CAB could help you with this, or G.A.

Don't keep putting it off - speak to them now before things could possibly get worse.
