Hello Guys,
I have recently completed IVA via F&F ang got the certificate last week. I just applied for the Vanquis and got rejected straightaway. I thought they are accepting people with poor credit history. Is it worth them to reconsider the decision by supplying payslips, rental agreement etc. I am now earring very descent salary. Don't know why I am being rejected.

Thanks

Hi, well done on F&F and getting what I assume is your completion certificate. Did you apply before getting the certificate? Although I am aware some people do and are given a card so not sure why you've not been.

Maybe someone else has been or is in a similar position.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Your IVA may well still be on your credit files and it's only a guess but it may be one of the reasons for rejection. Have you checked?

I think its as Lesley says ..too soon after the certificate being issued. I know for us Vanquis took six months to approve my husband for a card which was fine as we just wanted a back up

my friend got one a few month before her CC was issued, she did it by telephone and spoke to a real person, try ringing them and applying. She was upfront and did tell them about her IVA. This was only 6 months ago so don't think their systems would have changed that much in that time.

Make sure your credit records are all updated. You might also want to wait until you've dropped off the Insolvency register too. This takes up to 3 months post CC. Check here: http://www.insolvencydirect.bis.gov.uk/eiir/

I applied for a vanquis card 6 months before my IVA completed, i applied by post and they also telephoned me at home and asked a few questions but was accepted over the phone with a £500 credit limit, i use it for certain purchases but pay it off every month .
Kind Regards, MP

IVA accepted 1st October 2009
