I had a very bad day yesterday and just need to vent a bit of anger[:(!][:(!], so please bear with me...

Had my car window smashed yesterday in a car park just of Oxford Street in Central London and sat nav and snooper stolen[:(!]
I am fumming as it meant gatting a recovery to home and waiting up until 1am for the glass company to come and secure the vehicle.
It was all for nothing as I have had both units disabled so the scumbags cannot use anyway. I am left with a badly cut finger and glass in every crevice of the car! Complaint to car park employee in this so called 'secure' car park got me rudely directed to a disclaimer sign on wall and nothing to do with him. Had to then pay the rip off £40 for 4 hours parking charge[:(!]

On the plus side a member of the public had witnessed the event and shouted and chased the scumbag off and stayed with my car until a police officer came in case they came back to steal everything else also. Very grateful to this person but the police won't pass on his name address or number for me to thank him/her due to data protection.

I suppose many people will say it my fault for leaving the stuff in the glove box but like the AA and police said unless you remove the housing credle, lead, unit and clean the windscreen where sucker mark was they probably would have tried anyway to see.

Very theraputic this forum can be as I feel a bit better now......LOL

You poor thing. I felt exactly the same one morning when I woke up to find someone had put 1 12" slash in my car roof parked outside the house for no apparent reason. Do you have to pay an insurance excess? If so this can be deducted from your next IVA payment.

Thanks very much for that offer Melanie, but I am on company insurance so although all the glass and recovery is covered personal items are excluded.

I am reliant on the sat nav for work so will have no option to replace that...

It is so annoying isn't it, there is no point is there? I bet it was really inconvienient with the roof which is probably as a result of envy.

The person who stole my bits has probably sold them on now and now I had them blocked they are no use to anyone.

Offer very much appreciated, hope you are well

Emma ... what a pain for you ... I'm so sorry. This happened to me the year before last. I had arrived a little late to visit a bereaved family, I always take my sat nav out and put it in my handbag. On this occasion I hurried in to visit my family ... after I had sat with them for a coule of hours I came out to find someone had put a brick through my car window ... the old chap I was visiting, who had just lost his wife, was so upset "don't worry" I said "They were after my sat nav which I always keep in my bag ...." and, of course, on this one occasion I had forgotten to take it out.

One of the neighbours, realising what the purpose of my visit was, had left a note on the windscreen giving the name of the person who had done it ... when I contacted the Police their only response was "we thought he was in prison".

Emma ... what a laugh, you know I was telling you about my latest speeding fine well instead of points on my licence I've been offered the option of paying £74 for the courtesy of attending a "drivers awareness" workshop!!!

Oh Emma, I'm so sorry. The same happened to us a while ago, I'd only popped in the house to pick up the hubby and the kids and someone smashed the side window. The police caught him and he admitted it was for the satnav, I didn't have it on display it was in the boot but the cradle was still attached. Low life scum is the only way to describe these people.
It's nice to be back......

Emma

If we can help in any way then you just have to call - and deduct the cost of a replacement satnav out of your next payment, as we can't have you driving round the UK blindly.

Could you just drop me a line for the benefit of the file.

Thanks to all, feel better now[:)]

Debbie - What a horrible time for that to happen, but proves that there are more significant issues than a broken window.
Good luck on your rehab course!!!! How funny we were only talking about that the other night[:D]

Angela......LOL Sorry to laugh but that did tickle me. How do you steal a windscreen???? I wish they had removed my glass without shashing it as it is the mess thats bothering me more than anything!!!!

Ang - I told the carpark attendant to ***k off because I was so angry i was charges £40 to park in a so called secure car park with adverts saying they have security dogs and everything[:(!]
It really does take a lot for me to blow up at people and I never usually target the staff I would complain to tehe company bu his attitude infuraited me!!

Melanie - Thats fantastic, thank you so much. I will look into the cost and let you know xx
