Very quick response to creditors' meeting. Our meetings finished at 12.00 and had a call from Marc at 12.15! One of the creditors is quibbling over food bill as it is above the guidelines for a couple - it appears that that might not have read the proposal properly which clearly states we have 2 children at university who are at home for half the year, and who we obviously have to feed.

Now the negotiating. I hope Mel's team can pull it off.

We have a daughter at uni and there was an allowance built in for her being at home for half/40% of the year (and the resulting increase in food/heating/electric etc) and our IVAs were approved without any modifications to our spending. As you say, it was probably simply a case of the creditor(s) not reading proposal properly and I'm sure you will get this turned around. Best of luck.

Like you dlovesg ours is a f&f IVA, and it seems that they are concerned that I am not working. Do they want us to do amonthly IVA in case I get a job? My business folded last June and although I have been applying for all sorts, I have not had one interview, even for things where I thought I'd be bound to get a look in. I'm either overqualified due to my degree from 30 years ago in languaqes, or underqualified as I am not computer literate. Even being a teaching assistant, which I have done a lot of in the past, is now off limits without a piece of paper.

A couple of years ago my husband lost his job due to redundancy (one of the many reasons we are now so much in debt) and it took him over a year to get anything even with lots of qualifications and experience in his field - and he was looking all over the country! Only got anything at all as his old firm got some more work and so took him on again.

I have been self employed for 18 years and am in my fifties. Who is to say that I might get a job next week but my husband could lose his again. I would have thought that a bird in the hand.....
