Hi
I think that you would be credit searched and your IVA will still be on your file for another 6 months. However you have nothing to lose by trying.

Hello Kevan and Welcome,

Your IVA will remain on your credit file for 6 years from the commencement of your IVA.

Whether you are accepted as a guarantor with your IVA still on your credit file is really up to the provider, they may not see this is a problem. As Andy has said you have nothing to lose by trying.

You will need to contact the lender in question to guage how this will effect your ability to be a gurantor.

I would not have thought so, but if you live at the same address your son might want to file a Notice of Disassociation with the credit scoring companies just to be sure.
