Just received a text message from a Jane at CSL, saying that she must speak with me today, on 0208 763 4516.

I rang back but it was engaged.

Any ideas who this may be?

I have given my mobile to a couple of IVA companies recently, but they surely would ring me rather than txt me asking me to ring back?

I've tried googling the number but can only trace the area code, which I believe is somewhere in the area of Purley.

Try calling again PastHope, they may just be ringing to hassle you about money owed.

Well after speaking to a lovely lady at Thomas Charles, a light may be emerging at the end of the tunnel, just awaiting the documents to come through from our conversation.

Guess I ought to phone "Jane" to find out who she is representing.

As I havent been formally accepted on an IVA or indeed signed anything to request someone to act on my behalf, even though we intend to as soon as possible, how do I approach creditors?

Ignore them? Write to them and tell them of my intentions?
Or just tell them if they ring me and I speak to them?

Its usually the call centres who are so desperate to speak to you to try and get you to pay something. They are paid to reach a target and comunication is not their strong point. It will take time for the 'news' about your intended IVA to reach them (conveniently for them, me thinks). So it is best to tell them what youre doing (you may need to repeat yourself, more than a few times) and hang up, you can provide details of your pending IVA provider.

They do threaten all kinds of stuff but once you have your IP you can forward it all on to them.

Glad things are looking up Pasthope [:D]

When collection agencies or creditors call I would simply advise them that you are taking some advice on your financial situation and you are looking into an IVA.

They will try and get you to make payments there on the spot, but you have to be careful in an IVA as you cannot treat any of your creditors with preference.
