Hi johonnie
It is definately £485 and you will have to pay it in cash. I can understand why you would be scared, I was too, but if its any consolation, I was treated with respect and had no dirty looks from anyone. You either report to the relevant counter, in my case they called me, asked for the forms (as I had made an appointment they were expecting me), checked them over, asked for the money, asked if I had a problem reading a short statement with my hand on the bible, and that was it. Upstairs, sat down for two minutes, was called in to see the judge, sent out to correct some forms, waited quite a while, was called in again and 20 secs later----- BR!!
Remember, when the Judge asks if you have sought advice/help, say yes. He will also ask you if you understand the implications of BR and if you are happy for him to go ahead and declare you BR. And thats it, all done except for the OR interview which you will be contacted about.
Good luck and let us know how you get on.
Sue
