I can understand why you do not want to continue with this voluntary arrangement, but do try and work through things with your IP if you feel that bankruptcy is not the right way forward.

You are having a bad time at the moment, but if you can get to the position where you have an affordable monthly payment which deals with your debts then this might be a better option than bankruptcy.

Thank you everyone for your responses, they are kind and reassuring.

It is so nice being able to share our experiences / feelings on this forum as there is just no one I can talk too who really understands what we are going through. Your advise is a great stress release and I also wish everybody the best.

Andy I am really not sure if the fiqures for the variation meeting are worked out net x 13 / 12 on the other halfs weekly wages. I have spoken with 4 people regarding the 6 months of October - March08 and they still won't budge, Synergi should soon be asking for another 6 months wages slips and I can see that the same is going to happen. I have a few days off work so can concerntrate on getting my head round what is the best route to go with no kids pestering me and will yet again try to get that particular issue sorted out.

Good luck with getting this sorted out Smile or Cry. The way you're being treated is terrible, especially as you're trying to do the right thing x

I am pullin my hair out now and feel very tearful after speaking with a member of staff at Synergi.

I asked them directly how they work out my other halfs weekly wages and was told

"We work the net out x 52 / by 12". They asked if I had the calculations in front of me and told me they are the correct ones.

I seriously think that we are now going to go BR as they are not going to budge.

I'm sure that's not how mine were done. We both get paid calendar monthly, and that's how it has been worked out.

Who did you speak to at Synergie? The organ grinder or one of the monkeys?

If it was the latter, I would phone again and ask to speak to someone more senior.

Hi Kallis3

I wish it were that simple and the other half was paid monthly to. I get paid monthly but the other half gets paid weekly so that apparently should be worked out differently to take into consideration the 5 weekly months giving an average, which is not happening.

This is just a thought, I know youre feeling very low and tearful right now.

How about emailing/writing to the IP, stating exactly what youre trying to get through to them. You could point out the a b's and c's of your case and the manner in which youre being treated isnt exactly fair. Ok, so you got into debt, like most of us here, it doesnt mean that youre a lesser person incapable of making a calculation. Neither does it entitle them to speak to you with less respect than any other person. You trusted them with one of the most important decisions of your life, it is stressful enough, you have feelings, and are trying to work with them. Can they not work with you?? Furthermore, it is in their interests to try to help and accomodate your needs, thats where their fee comes from, you dont have their qualifications, you are an end user, its down to them to build bridges with you not burn them. They are the professionals here. If you decide to go BR, and youre thinking very strongly that this is the best way forward, the end of the stress with them, where will they stand?

I may be way off the mark here but that is how I would see it.

What a nuisance it is! It's so frustrating trying to make your point to someone on the phone when they are refusing to budge.

Maths was never my strong point, so I haven't got a clue how they work these things out (2+2 is about my limit).

I hope you manage to get it sorted in your favour soon.
