Lots of forum members have gone BR themselves without any problems.
If people do need help and their case is a little bit more complicated then there are reputable companies that will help for a fee. Paul Johns from Reviva who posts on here offers this service and he comes highly recommended. Paul represented one of the forum members debtfreesusie(I wonder how she is?).
I think the majority probably have Viki. The forms can be quite daunting, but can be filled in without help. Definitly use a reputable firm though if you are going to ask for assistance.
If I remember rightly, I don't think xit debt put your name on the envelope, which mean anyone at the address can open it - not good if you live in a communal residence.
They were also too friendly as well - they are not my friends, never will be and I would prefer that letters from companies touting for business don't greet me by using my first name.
I never give business of any sort to people who phone, call or write. When I want something doing, I'll sort my own out and do my own research. It's always worked for me.

Thats the key I think, doing some research. I think you still take a gamble sometimes though. I guess a recomendation from others is one of the best ways.
