Hi

You need to speak to an insolvency practitioner companies and feed back from users are available on www.iva.com. You could also speak to one of the expert IP's on this site.

I know this is a very hard time in your life, its scary and feels black but as soon as you speak to someone, you will feel better.

When you are deciding on choosing an advisor, it is a good idea to take a little time researching the options available to you, and chatting to at least a couple of different insolvency practitioners to see what options are discussed with you.

And of course continue to ask questions on the forum, where there is a wealth of experience from both the professional and consumer marketplace.

Was there a shortfall from the repossession Lyndsey, which you are being asked to repay on top of your other debts?

Hi Lyndsey, welcome to the forum. Are you able to list the rest of your debts?

This place contains a wealth of knowledge but the main thing is we have all or are still all dealt with debt.
Discharged today the 8th feb 2012. View is much brighter now.

You can either contact an insolvency practitioner directly from the outset (which I would actually recommend that you do), or post a few more details on here so that we can see if we can guide you.

Do remember that the forum is for general and not specific guidance - and that the answer to your problems may only be a phone call (or two/three!) away.

Hi,

You do need to speak to an Insolvency Practitioner as soon as possible. They will listen to what you have to say, and will tell you what options are open to you.

Give Melanie a ring, her details are on the post she has made on this thread. She comes highly recommended by a lot of people on here.

The letters and phone calls will keep on coming until you sort this out.

I have a question for somebody, I have a debt with british gas I left and they gave me some of my wages 2 weeks in advance. The thing is that I have not been in work since March I did 4 days on August the 26th but it didn't work out.
The Baliffs came at the door and I arranged a repayment of £10.00 per month then when I started this new job which I thought was going to work out I told them I could £50.00 which I managed to put them off coming till the 17th October as I thought my new job which I start on Monday would be weekly paid as it is through an agency.
The thing is that the house we live is not mine and nothing in it,is mine as we are living with relatives.
I was just wondering what advice can anyone give as to what I say to them as I am not going to be able to afford to pay them on the 17th.
I am scared of going on the phone again incase they say no.
