Has anybody else had a letter from this company. They ask you if you need help with your IVA in the current climate. They say you can have a free IVA healthcheck, and that they are debt finance specialists!!!

I think I am to.. enough to know that debt and finance are bad, thats all I need to know!!

I have forwarded my letter to my IP to see what she thinks...
Ang.. 13 payments in.. WOW, thats over 20% paid!! http://angela18.blogs.iva.co.uk/ well here we go

We've had two each - aren't we lucky?

The recycling bag has been entrusted with looking after them!

It always amuses me that these firms (and other debt companies) make up posh sounding names to make them sound like a firm of solicitors.

Their aim of course is to get people out of an IVA by making them bankrupt, and charge a hefty fee for doing so, though for the life of me I don't see where someone who has been in an IVA for a couple of years is going to find the money.

It is arguable that there is a place for this sort of thing, as although many people are happy with their IVAs, its an unfortunate fact that substantial numbers are not.

However it seems unlikely that the likes of 'Goldsmith Henderson' or the IVA Council would be the best people to be dealing with.

For the official line on this type of thing, see the Insolvency Service website entry on the IVA Council.

Quite agree.

The only problem is, that for every one of us who sees through these money making leeches, there are probably a couple who are taken in and end up losing a lot of money.

I am told that some companies who do this are finding the letters increasingly ineffective and are stopping using them, which is probably a good thing for everybody.

I had one from a company (can't remember who) offering to help me annul my BR (I was in an IVA at the time) by releasing the equity in my home (not sure how as I'm not a homeowner!). My view is if they want to waste their money then let them, but it's worrying that some people might be taken in.

Woo! not them again - we have had two each in two months - getting fed up of them wasting paper.
Avoid them along with the British Association of IVA Consumers!
Final IVA payment made in April 2013, never ever thought we could do it or get through it but we did! X

Of course, some firms resort to phone calls as well, usually from a foreign call centre and some people will be taken in by them.

I always find that the letters are like buses - you go for ages without any, then loads come at once.
