I am in the process of getting info sorted to apply for an IVA. Have finally faced up to the fact I cant live off credit anymore. Told my best mates last week that I would not be going on holiday with them this year as really cannot justify spending money I havent got anymore. They have been great about it all and yesterday surprised me by telling me they have booked and paid for my ticket. I am more that grateful and have until October to try and scrape together some spending money. My question is, if I am excepted and enter an IVA will it be frowned upon that I have a two holiday planned.
That's really nice of them Scott, what good mates you have.
As they have paid for your holiday, there won't be a problem with you going - you just need to save your pennies for the spending money!

No problem at all. Your mates have treated you - all you will have to do is save for the holiday spends out of your allowances for everyday expenditure that will be allowed during your IVA. Good luck.

Thanks for the replies, they are indeed great mates. It's kind of made me realise how lucky I am although it's sad it had to come to this to make me see! I have spent far too long thinking it's money that makes me happy when in reality it really isnt. We are off on the annual lads holiday and this year it's Malia in Greece. It's going to be tough getting the spends together but I already realise how lucky I am to be even going and how good it's going to feel not relying on credit.
This site has already been a god send and you guys are great, it's far too easy to keep you're head in the sand and ignore other peoples problems assuming your own are far worse but coming on here has made me realise that there actually are some geniune helpful people out there. So a big thanks to all of you!
Keep posting to let us know how you are getting on.

What fab friends you have - and now you have something to look forward to you may find it easier than you thing to scrape that savings money together.
If I were your IP, I would wish you all the best on your holiday. Everyone needs a break every now and again, and five years is a long time without having one!
