My IP wrote to me last week demanding payment of arrears of £715.00 which came as quite a shock as I send my monthly payment to them every month religoulsy and also include half of all bonuses as soon as I get them.
I queried it over the phone but they couldn't give me a satisfactory answer as to how they came to this figure.
They have since written to me and included figures and my statement for the period they say I am in Arrears and the amount is know £714.60. Having checked it they claim I missed my November 2008 payment, I have been to the bank and they have confirmed that the counter cheque I posted to the IP has been cashed.
I missed a payment in December 2007 because of urgently needed car repairs and they where ok with this and over the course of the last year I have made 3 additional payments to pay back the missed payment and only one of these appears on my statement which is also a concern.
Should I be worried and this seeming lack of good record keeping on the IP's part, is it worth taking my worries to the relevant licensing body.
I would produce the evidence of payment to your IP and I am sure this matter will be resolved. I do not think it would be necessary to involve the regulatory bodies unless the IP does not correct the errors.

Well I've written to them with all the details and a breakdown of all the payments I've made, fingers crossed they will get their act together. And confirm that I am not in arrears.

This is a simple issue which can be sorted out by direct communication with your IP firm. It is in no way an issue which ought to be referred to a regulator at the moment - save that for it you cannot resolve the matter with the IP. I am sure someone has just got their wires crossed, and whether you have paid the payment will be a matter of fact which is easily proven.
You'll be glad to know after I wrote to the IP with details of all the payments I had sent along with confirmation from the bank that all the monies had cleared they have found all my payments and have agreed with me that I am not in arrears.[:D]
So that is a weight off my mind, though it still concerns me that they were missing records of my payments in the first case.
Fingers crossed things will just run smoothly to the end now.
A huge weight off your mind, lets hope they don't 'lose' these records again.
Just goes to show that it pays to keep statements and receipts, just in case'.
