Hi Stirling,

My Line Manager knows of my situation but our HR department is now a shared service centre, you just get to speak to a call centre person so i have left it at that with my Line Manager. I've got nothing to hide at the end of the day [8D]

I have just reviewed the codes of practice for civil servants witch I think you will need to do if you are a civil servant.

Not sure if you can post the link on here or even the extract but they are freely available online

Is there a separate magazine that all Civil Servants read?

An IVA for impoverished Civil Servants won't affect their employment position so no worries at all.

If you are already employed by the police force (as I am), you don't have to tell them about IVA - I haven't.

The others I don't know about.

Skintdad - don't see why you can't publish the link.

If you go to this site

http://beta.civilservice.gov.uk/about/w ... SMC-4.aspx

and read sections 4.3.2 and 4.3.10 this applies to all civil servants.

how each department acts on this is another thing but it shouldn't effect your employment just what you do.

I work in an area that requires court work but as i don't have access to public funds it's not an issue. They will generally look at the fact that you are dealing with the problem and are therefore not a risk.

Thanks for that skint - it will be useful for our civil service posters.
