Spoke to DFD on Tuesday to ask if I could tag my arrears of 244.00 onto the end of my arrangement, they got back to me and said I could but there would be charges. i pay £472.00 per month on a £40,0000
debt, (53p in the pound) which i think is quite good. Not sure what the charges are for, but i have agreed to pay an extra £20.00 per month to clear the arrears. to top it all i have been told this morning i will have to have new guttering on the back and front of the house, i have damp coming through the kitchen and bedroom, this is going to cost at least £500.00 at a guess. I have the 4 year equity clause, but am in negative equity, wont be able to raise the money for the guttering straight away. dont want my ceilings coming in with the damp and water thats coming through. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I could borrow the money off mum and dad but they would need paying back, I do have an insurance policy paying out in june, could I use some of this money to pay my parents back, then pay the rest into the arrangement? it will probably be around £1000 -£1200.
As to your insurance policy, I would think that DFD would let you use some of it for necessary repairs. Otherwise, you would have to ask for a payment break to pay for it.
You'll have to run it by your IP though. I would try to email him/her direct. You can find them via this link.

Thanks kallis3, I dont even know who my IP is, I only ever speak to the customer care department, at DFD, dont want to take another payment break, due to the charges that they say will be incurred.
If you check your details on the Insolvency Register, click on your surname and it will bring up all the details, including who your IP is.

Your roof is an essential repair and you ought to seek a payment break to cover it, which can be repaid once your insurance monies are received. Was this policy disclosed as an asset in your IVA?
Ask DFD what the extra charges are for if you were to add the arrears to the end of your proposal, rather than contribute at 20 pounds extra each month.

I have looked on the insolvency website and it still says clearstart not DFD, my IP is with Clearstart, is this correct or will it be a different IP, now that DFD have taken over my arrangement. Melanie the insurance is from a secured loan which i have it pays out over the next 3 years, it was mentioned at the start of the arrangemnt, i gave them a copy of the secured loan agreement, there was nothing in my proposal about this at all.
I don't know if it will be the same IP Chappie. Hopefully, if Melanie or one of the other experts come on later they can answer that for you.
As for the insurance, you will have to ask DFD if you can use some of this money for essential repairs. I don't see any reason why they won't let you do that.

Thanks Jan, its confusing, not sure about DFD yet, i asked them yesterday about my annual review, it was due in January, I sent my payslips P60, Bank Statements last November and a new I and E sheet, but they said thye haven't done it yet, as they have a backlog, has anyone else had this problem? Done want to have to send them all again.
I am sure that they have to do the annual review within a certain period of time, but not sure how long.
I doubt you will have to do it again as they haven't said that they haven't received the paperwork.
Again, one of the professionals, if they look in later, will be able to tell you.
Sorry I'm not of much use!

Your IP could be the same person if he was re-employed by DFD or another might have been appointed in his place by Court Order if that particular IP did not join DFD.
Ask DFD. They probably have a backlog on annual reviews but they will get round to it - and don't forget to find out about these so called "extra charges" they appear to want.

Hi LadyH. I will call DFD tomorrow, to find out why there will be charges if I tag the payment onto the end, maybe it was just scaremongering to make sure that i catch up with my arrears, I will let you know what she says
i spoke to someone in the customercare dept, she wants me to email her and agree to pay an extra £20.00 per month, but i'm not going to do this until i find out why she wants to charge me and not anyone else, I havent even missed a full months payment just a 1/4 of a month appaprantly. I will let you know what she says.
