And thanks Jan for your concern re: cheque book but it will only be used to send creditors token payments and for school payments - dinners and trips. I will be very vigilant, I do not intend to get into any more debt again, ever!!!!!

I think we must have done our passports as we still have the old pink driving licences!

I really can't remember sending them off though! My memory is getting bad!

They requested proof of Full name either passport or driving licence, but didnt say they wanted a photograph so I just copied the full paper licence not the card with picture on.

They should have phoned you and told you to send the correct one in.

Know what you mean about kids - mine is at her boyfriends today as it is his birthday. I think she must be drunk because she keeps texting me and repeating stuff she asked me earlier!

She's doing my head in![:D]

Not disputing the photograph thing but I certainly did not send in anything like that when I was trying to set up my IVA last year. The only thing I sent off with my paperwork was a current council tax bill.

I suppose that confirms who I am, does it not?

I sent council tax proof but not for id, along with many other things. Kept me busy getting it all together, just hope it was all the right bits.

It confirms that you live at that address, but not exactly who you are!

Melanie mentiond something about money laundering.

Not really sure what it was for then. But I never sent a copy of my passport or driving licence.

It is a requirement for all IP's under Money Laundering legislation to know their client. Hence a copy of driving license or passport as well as a utility bill is required to be sent in.

At what point during the process of setting up an IVA is this information requested?

Right at the beginning - as soon as you have confirmed that you want to proceed with a particular firm and engage them to act for you. It is a serious issue if firms are not completing this work correctly.
