You don't need to ask DFD's permission to change your mind! If it doesn't feel right now, it probably won't be going forward. I suggest you quietly take a second opinion and then decide what to do. I will be very happy to advise you if you would like to make contact.

Did you have to pay them for the work they had already done. They only looked at mine and sent it to Tenons. Ive signed the agreement they
sent out in the post with the pack, but dont seem to be getting anywhere fast.

Have a chat with Melanie's firm and one or two others so that you feel happy. See reviews of others on www.iva.com and ask whether they pay any referal fees for example.

Sorry for being late in responding - missed your post - no I did not pay any money over but apart from the rubbish told they would not answer my detailed questions - Melanie did!
