I was just thinking how lucky we are to have discovered this forum. In particular those of us who are fast approaching our creditors meeting and we can come here for so much support from so many fantastic people. But how many more people will be having thier creditors meetings this week and havn't discovered this forum. I should imagine its a lot more than have found the forum by a large majority. What are these people doing for support as so many probably can't even let thier families or friends even know about the problems they are facing. There are probably lots of people as we speak worried beyond belief of how things are going to pan out and have nobody to turn to. They can't even speak to thier IP's over the weekend to get some much needed reassurance and just to make matters worse its bank holiday and will have to wait another day longer. It just puts it all into prospective of how lucky we are to be able to speak to our family on this forum and remove the stress that we would have otherwised faced as so many others are doing. I can only say thankyou to you all.

I couldn't agree with you more Iva and second the thanks too.[:)]
The whole field of looking for advice is a mine field, let alone getting support.[:(] The registered Debt charity's and CAB's may be a great starting point, but with the upturn in people facing the situation, their already overstretched services must be facing breaking point, and at the very least mean long waiting times.

This site is so valuable for not only advice and support, but also the range of both it offers. To see broken and demoralised people posting here, and to watch them grow in confidence as their path becomes clearer is still something that amazes me on a daily basis. To see friendships form and humour shared, and then add in to the mix the quality of the advice from both professionals and lay people and in truth, you couldn't bottle it.[:D]

*raises a glass to all* 'Cheers'[;)]
Never take a moment or a loved one for granted in the blink of an eye they may be lost forever.

You are welcome to view my ramblings here.

Coming on here reading what everyone is saying helps. I dont know much about iva's but I've learnt a bit on here. It doesnt sound too bad as long as we have enough to live on for the 5 years, though the amount might go up each year which sounds scary!
Life goes on!!

I found this forum a year into hubby's IVA and often wish I had found it before. The knowledge gained is priceless and even though our IVA failed, I have learnt so much from this forum.

We certainly wouldn't have got to where we are without the advice, on and off forum.

Do you people on here actually know each other or do you just know each other through this forum? It is easier for some people to just let things out and confide in one another but i coud not possibly let all my worries out to people i know or even on here. Even though people on here have been VERY HELPFUL.

I know that when I found this forum, I was in the depths of despair and panic. I have been given so much support, I dont really have any one I can talk to that understands how I feel or that I want to share my feelings with so I can truly say this forum has been a complete life saver xxx we are very lucky.
Creditors meeting set for 2nd June....

starts off just through the forum, but a lot of us email each other and keep in touch off forum too.

There have been/ are meetings too in different parts of the country, which gives a chance for forum members to meet up.

A lot of posters can't confide in anyone so the forum gives a great outlet to share anything and everything.

Hi.Must agree with you all.The forum is a fantastic souce of emotionaland practical help.I read, but don't post alot. Often, juist need the reassurance that I'm not the only one in this 'mess' and helps me feel less ashamed and isolated. My IVA is now 17 months old.I found the forum just after my IVA was accepted.Wish I'd found it ealier.Differnt choice of IP/Company would have been made.Lots of people come and go on here. It's nice recognising regular posters and the support they offer people.
