Well after telephone meetings with both Tina & Melanie, we have started getting our IVA paperwork underway. Have been scanning, printing, saving, signing documents all morning. Such a lot of paperwork to get together, did anyone else find this daunting?
We have eleven letters to post to our creditors explaining what we are proposing to do,(hope it will stop the phone calls) all we need to get now is our house valuation & a copy of our secured loan statement ( i think) then we can send them in to Melanie.
We have been relying on credit for so long it became a habit, almost an illness (in my case anyway) we know its going to be tough to work to a budget, but we will do this.
Hopefully this is the start of us being debt free, the money worries have been such a burden for so long, it will feel so good to have our finances under control.
Thanks to this forum for being here, & thanks to my lovely wife for being so supportive through this scary time.

Regards, MP

you have got a great IP working for you so you are in really good hands. It is daunting to start with getting everything together. It does get easier and the feeling is great when you get the thumbs up at the creditores meeting. Good luck with your proposal.

We sent all our paperwork in nearly 4 weeks ago. Hopefully we will have a proposal through soon also. It was daunting getting all the paperwork together, it really hits home of how much money is involved. Fingers crossed we will enter our IVA soon.

That is the scary thing, when sending in all your paperwork. You actually find out how much you owe.
Indeep, i am sure your proposal will be with you soon and then providing they are ok, you should have a meeting date very soon after that.
Good Luck

Funnily enough, I`ve just finished compiling all the information that Tina needs to present my case to Melanie. It has taken me most of the weekend! I also had a rude awakening of the amount of debt that I owe. When you are putting the figures down on paper it really hits home. Good luck to all.

Yes good luck to all. It really can hit home when you write down all your debts, just how much you actually owe. When you add them up in your head, you always seem to forget someone.

Good luck to you all. I have just started an IVA and the relief is immense! I too felt the same at the beginning and seemed to be swamped with finding statements, wage slips, etc.. the valuation was the worst bit to take time but now seems like a distant memory! Make sure that you build up a emergency fund with the money that you aren't paying to creditors because believe me you will need it! the car will need repairs etc which we relied on our credit cards for. It feels good that after 5 years we will not be in debt. Creditors have not phoned us at all since was accepted so keep your chin up and struggle through. we are all in the same boat. [:)][:)][:)]
