Hi there. My daughter is in the third year of an IVA and her car lease finishes in December with a final payment of £2,500. Ford will not let her have the finance to pay this off, even though this allowance is included in the IVA because she wasn't in an IVA when starting the lease. She has tried negotiating with them but to no avail. Any ideas where she could get the finance from? she has asked her father etc and I am in IVA so cannot get loan for her. The car is an 06 so it would be such a waste to hand it back after paying out for 3 years and she has no funds to get a runaround. Her payment to the lease is £165 per month. she has had 2 payment breaks so far for her IVA . any advice appriated. [:)]

Hi
It may be worth contacting www.duncton.com to see if they will finance the balloon payment for your.
If they will just be sure that her IP is aware of the finance.

Hi Andy. I am sure they don't do under £5000 loans?

Kabby3. she has tried twice but Ford will not budge. Duncton have suggested that she sell her car to pay off the balloon payment and put deposit down for finance from them on a different car. think it is on lease with an option to buy so don't think she can do this. will speak to her later to actually see the agreement. Thank you for your reply [:)]

Kabby3. Did you send them a copy of your proposal? were you with Ford for your car finance? Hope she can sort something out.

I think that by selling the car she has now, paying off the finance and then taking out a lease agreement is probably the best option. How much is her car worth now?

I was with Renault and I sent copy of all my proposal second time round they viewed the fact I had a certain amount allocated for car finance and therefore went for it...dont understand why they would prefer a used car back when they could get the financed secured on the car...could you act as a guarantor ?

Its an 06 ford KA so not sure how much it's worth Melanie. Also if it's on finance then can she sell it because surely the HPI check will show up? Kabby. I cannot be guarantor because I am in IVA. Thanks for your replies

She can sell with the permission of the finance company - and of course the money received will firstly need to repay the outstanding balance due to that company.

How about a letter from the IP? Maybe that will have more effect than just you?? Its a bit odd Has she always paid each month on time? I was not in an IVA when I started my car finance. She obviously owns more than half of it so legally they would need a court order to repossess. It appears you have done everything to mitigate your circumstances. Have you spoken to a supervisor at ford or just a call centre administrator? Just feel sad you might have to give up....dont give up,also thinking about it Renault didnt actually want to talk to me about refinance until a month before plan was due to finish.

Thank you both for your help. Just starting my IVA and now have daughters worries as well! Kabby she has spoken to the call centre i think but I keep telling her to send off her proposal for proof but some times kids have ears that don't listen to their parents! will try to make her listen. Can't be worrying about her problems as well as mine anymore. only so much I can take at moment. Son been out of work for 3 weeks but hopefully has another one starting next weekfingers crossed! Was so relieved when IVA was approved and now reality sets in and all sorts of problems rear their ugly heads lol!
