I love golf but unfortunately it is not cheap. I had to give up my membership but I still play regularly.
I now use www.teetimes.co.uk which always pay and play throughout the country at a fraction of the cost. Just try to book 7 days in advance and you can get some great deals (i.e. less than a tenner).
Great sport, totally addictive and my wife loves it as it gets me out of the house!
I have always had hobbies and if it wasnt for them i would have gone around the twist thankfully i do get a little bit towards it, I make cards or scrapbooks and people ask me to make them which i do and they pay for materials and a little of my time, so i get the odd fiver or tenner plus i get to do my hobby, I also do photography but i have only just started off offering that
I haven't really got a hobby, although I love reading so I suppose that counts!
Michael, you've mentioned one of my life's ambitions - I'd love to follow Formula One around the world! Also, you have my commiserations for being a Leeds fan!
I love Formula One too and was lucky enough in my pre marriage days to go to Spa in Belgium and Montmelo in Spain. The experiences were amazing but now I cannot even get to Leeds for a football match.
I'd love to go, but money (as always!) is the thing that's stopping me! If I had to choose which races to go to it would be Australia, Monaco, Silverstone (or wherever it will be held!) and Spa.
oh i love F1 just such a shame all the polictics is taking up air time on the show instead of the best stuff the build up, qualifying and the actual race. If i could choose it would Be Monocco, Bahrain and even the night race looks an experiance - one of the girls i work with got a whole experiance weekend this weekend flew in by helicopter, lunch in the box needless to say i hated her lol what made it worse is she isnt even a fan!!
My favourite drivers are Ayrton Senna, Mika Hakkinnen and Jenson Button - Lewis Hamilton went down in my estimation after lying in Australia. I've always been a McLaren fan, but I've got a soft spot for Brawn as well as Jenson Button is from Frome, where my nan lived.
I was never a fan of his, but it was nice to see Michael Schumacher having a laugh on Top Gear last night.
I have always liked Button as he does not complain about what car he drives just so long as he gets a drive. It is great to see him show what he can do now that he has a good car and team behind him.
Hakkinnen was an excellent driver but I always remember his wife as being very cold. I think it was Imola where he crashed while leading and broke down in tears behind a wall. His wife stayed in the Mc Laren control room watching him on a monitor rather than going to console him. She obviously thought he had let everyone down and let him stew. I felt really sorry for him that day but he went on and retained his title that year.
I've driven round the course at Monaco, and walked round part of it! I've stood by the seating and seen the tyre marks on the course as well!
As you will have realised - the race had happened the week before we did that!

I could have done it then - I was extremely slim and quite fit![:D]
