Have just been informed by BE that our creditors meeting will be set for 21 days on Monday as all our paperwork has now been finalised but too late for team to do anything about today being 5.20pm on a friday. I know IVAs are unpredictable but would someone be able to give me an idea if they think our proposal would have a good chance. debts total £44000 with main creditors as follows:
£23 000 - HSBC
£12 200 - Halifax
£5000 - Santander
£900 - MBNA
Our dividend is 57.74p / £ with additional equity going in each year from sale of company shares ( unknown at this time, dependant on price at time of sale )
I know this isnt too bad a dividend from logging on to this site for a few weeks but worried as HSBC can sometimes get bad press on here for being hard to negotiate. Any comments would be much appreciated
A decent divident hopeful, and BE would not put this forward if they did not think it would be accepted.
I don't think you will have a problem with HSBC. I owed them a lot more than that and they didn't even bother to vote!

Kallis thanks for your quick reply. I'm quite surprised that they didnt even bother to vote so lets hope they feel the same about us as they will hold the majority vote if im not mistaken
You never can tell - there is no consistency when it comes to voting.

Feel like this is never gonna end at the moment. Halifax have now taken to ringing me simultaneously on my home number and mobile now so god knows where they got that from. I work in the community so if they ring my mobile as often as they do my home number i'm gonna be demented
I have to say that I hated the phone calls - the phone ringing used to set my nerves on edge, and I never used to answer them!

Have just been fiddling about with my mobile and when Halifax number has come up in missed calls i've pressed options and it gives you the option to reject anynumber you dont want to call you- how good is that. needless to say Halifax is on my list of rejects
Trouble is - they do use a lot of different numbers. We subscribed to Choose to refuse from BT - most of the blocked numbers were from Halifax.
With my mobile, each time a creditor rang, I added their number to my contacts so that when they rang I would know that I could reject them. If it was a number I didn't know, I ignored it. I also changed my ringtone to my message tone, so that if I was at work people would just think I had had a text.

Hi
I hated the phone calls MBNA got hold of my mobile number and used to leave messages demanding that I ring them but I just ignored them. We unplugged the house phone and the messaged service used to kick in. I had to tell my mother that our phone was playing up.
Can I ask what may seem like a really silly question.... Do you actually need to be present at the creditor meetings? Are they actually meetings or conference calls?
You can be present, but most of the time you don't need to be at the meeting, just available on the telephone. I think most of the voting goes by correspondence between your IP and creditor.
The votes are usually faxed over, and a lot of them are in before the date of the meeting.
Your IP won't tell you though as the creditors can change their mind!
