Once the vehicle is sold at auction the shortfall of the entire contractual amount plus any charges and costs (inc court costs) will be persued.
You can't use the 50% rule if you are in contractual arears. In this case to get a return of goods order a default and termination notices would have been served therefor again you have no right to return the vehicle without consequence.
A return of goods order is normally the last resort.
Do check the contents of the order it may only give you a certain time to return the vehicle (the onus is on you to make contact and return the vehicle) if you fail to comply with an order you will be in contempt of the court which you do not want to do !
