There is no harm in trying a few different companies - but it is interesting that the CAB have referred you to an intermediary firm rather than to an IP directly, having identified themselves that an IVA is a solution worthy of consideration.

I have spoken to CAB again regarding the intermediary firm that they are being referring us to. We do have to pay this firm a fee. So told them we will go direct to IP ourselves. Have approached 2 IP's, waiting to hear whether we are suitable for an IVA, so fingers crossed x

Thanks for your supportive posts, I don't feel quite so alone now. Well I have spoken to IP office and it seems IVA may not be route for us but DMP would be better option. This scares the hell out of me even more, as not going to have any legal protection and heard horror stories about them. Anyone else gone down the DMP route that can offer me any advice.

I did a DMP for 18 months before doing my IVA. I had no problems at all with my creditors.

Did you arrange it youself Jan or did you use a company. Some of the company's charge whereas others don't, would not mind having a go at trying to arrange it myself though, but not sure whether my creditors would take me seriously.
