I,m emigrating to Australia at the end of the month. I owe around £37,000 could i arrange a IVA if living abroad, I do have a UK forwarding address. I could possibly pay £400 per month.
You can pay an IVA from abroad and this would mean that you would not have to worry when you did return to the UK even for a holiday. You would need to seek advice soon so the documents could be prepared while you are still in the UK which would speed the process up. You would however need to be able to show how the IVA was to be funded and if you have not got a settled income and expenditure for Australia it may be worth waiting until you have settled in before having the proposal drafted.
Do you have a job to go to in Australia? And have you secured somewhere to live, and costed all of your likely living costs? If so, then the IVA could be proposed before you leave, but if not then I agree with Michael that your priority is to get settled first and sort your budget out.
I have a few clients living in Australia, and they manage to service their IVAs very well from afar.
I'm two months into an IVA and am looking at possibly moving to Dubai for a few years. I understand that I can continue with my IVA as normal but are there any specific processes I would need to go through?
I live abroad too (Prague) and the only thing I had to do was change my address, get my IP to agree to monthly payments by debit card as I get paid to a Czech account (I'm not paying fees just to transfer money back to the UK for IVA DD) and complete a new Income and Expenditure form based on my new details.
That's it!!

Just a curious question - my understanding is that to emigrate to Oz you need a large amount of money in the bank and they do credit checks and all sorts - are you an Australian citizen? or how else can you get permission to emigrate there?
