It is best to check. The last thing you need is to be pulled up for no insurance or to have an accident and find out you're not covered.
It will tell you on your certificate of insurance.

Hi My son walled pulled over by the police on a journey back from a weekend away, he was driving his friends car as he had took ill in the morning and knew he had third party so he was ok to drive. When taking his insurance etc to our local police station for the driving offence on his policy which he had renewed a couple of weeks previously with another frim, low and behold in the small print he was not insured to drive another vehical at all. He got 6 points and fined £150 for having no insurance even though the policy cost him £1000 as he drives a BMW fully comp. They said they were being leniant on him as it is classed as no insurance, and he didn't drive the car knowing he wasn't insured.
It is the first thing we check now (after the horse has bolted)
Abi, hindsight is a wonderful thing, how many times have I wished I had that![:)]
It always used to be standard on policies that if you were fully comp, you were able to drive other cars third party only on your insurance.
It is always best to check these days.
