Hi,

My wife and I are currently in a debt management scheme and are considering changing to an IVA after our house is sold. We plan to emigrate to Australia next year and are quite interested in buying a house out there using something like the Homestart scheme. Does anyone know if it is possible to have an active UK IVA and be considered for a mortgage in Australia?

Hi,

I'm afraid I don't really know the answer to that. I would have thought that you could possibly get one, but I have no idea what their credit checking is like over there.

Hopefully one of the experts will be along to advise later.

Australian lenders have no access to your UK credit profile.

When you emigrate to Aus you start a whole new life inc credit report.

Good luck with the move.
